    Hi Mahendra,

I feel this new title is a lot better than the old one…and arouses a lot of curiosity too…

  4. mahendrap says:

    Hi Pareen,

Thanks. The older one was because at that time, the main content on my blog was only my long travelogue to Spiti Valley, and it seemed an appropriate title. But now, I acted on a tip from a friend who suggested that the earlier one was too cliched. I agreed, and this one describes me much better I think! :-)

  5. James says:

I agree with you that more focused blogs may gain more readers but writing on a wide variety of topics is far more enjoyable as I have found on my blog.

  6. krishashok says:

Thanks, Ranjay! I will need to spare at least one full day to get myself even remotely acquainted with your fascinating photography! Now, let me see my schedule…;-)

  13. Rambodoc says:

Certainly not an average Joe: be Objective! ;-)
In a very short span of time, I have become an admirer of your mind. Why?
Well, that will need a blog!

  14. mahendrap says:

Ramana: Being objective about myself is one of the most difficult challenges I’ve consistently faced – so I’ve decided to be safe, rather than sorry. And really, I don’t have any pretensions either – I really think I’m quite average in most respects. Observing and thinking about things is nothing compared to the people who create art, wealth, save lives through surgery…get my drift? :-)

    Mahendrap -

Is it Mahendra or Mahendrap? You write well, you are open to questions, and your site is very well done. I enjoy reading what you have to say.

  18. mahendrap says:

Aikaterine: thanks! You can see my name at the top of this page, it’s Mahendra. That username was taken by someone disillusioned with Wordpress who hasn’t posted even a single post, so I had to make up mahendrap, using my last name’s first letter.

Thanks for the compliments, they mean a lot!

Hey, I’m a big fan of visual representation and succinctness so this is a good one. :) So what if the ‘about me’ page doesn’t tell your eye color, I can always ask! But being a Leo, I can’t be satisfied with an about-me page that doesn’t talk endlessly about me. hehe!

Mahendraji, I needed some advice [first hand info] on Lonavla.

My brother-in-law, marine engineer, wants to give up his amphibian life. He is getting an offer for teaching in the marine training school of his company at Lonavla (thought it will pay about 7 times less than his current post of chief engineer) and him and my sister want to shift to Lonavla. They have a four year old child. They are worried about the schooling system/facilities in Lonavla (someone said there aren’t good schools but all else is fine with the place). Can you give me advice/info/suggestion/insight from your knowledge or find out from someone who knows about the place.

    Thanks.
