I'm happy you're watching these films! :-) Ikiru was a bit difficult to write about. Writing about great films one loves so much is difficult because one always has so much to say and is afraid that whatever one writes will not express it fully. Another factor is the ambiguity of whether to write it for the audience who may have seen it or for those who may have not seen it! Why — because for one, not many people watch Kurosawa today, and second, I thought it’s not easily available in India.

Ikiru was a bit difficult to write about. Writing about great films one loves so much is difficult because one always has so much to say and is afraid that whatever one writes will not express it fully. Shinchin amazed me with the kind of depth kurosawa had also saw his dreams from a friends reco - understood the plot but it didnt quite click. on ikuru - i already like ur summary presentation Why?

Somehow, I didnt like Ijaazat except the songs..I think Gulzar does wonders as a writer alone, but when he also directs, he goes too abstract/slow sometimes...
