An Unquiet Mind

Just a few days back, I came across a pro­gram on Dis­cov­ery chan­nel about how famous sci­ence fic­tion authors had pre­dicted most of the astound­ing sci­en­tific dis­cov­er­ies and achieve­ments that actu­ally hap­pened decades later. It included H. G. Well’s foreboding of the atomic bomb, among other things.

Today, yet another amaz­ing discovery: a new mineral, with almost iden­ti­cal chem­i­cal com­po­si­tion as Kryp­tonite (a.k.a. Superman Returns)  has been dis­cov­ered in a mine in Ser­bia! Read BBC’s account here.
